Please be aware that the Tory Government have pushed through the Elections Act 2002 which now requires people casting their vote at a polling station to show certain allowable forms of photographic id. If you show up without it you will not be allowed to vote, even if you have your polling card. If the clerk still allows you to vote they will be breaking the new law so please do not ask them. If you still want to cast your vote you will have to go away, find an acceptable id and return before the polls shut.
I have publicly called on other parties within Herefordshire to work with us, Hereford Labour, to ensure that everyone knows about the changes, but as at the time of writing I have not heard from ANY of them!
Typically the id will be a driving licence or a passport but the full list of allowed ids can be found on our website here;
https://northherefordshire.laboursites.org/2023/02/17/acceptable-voter-id/
Herefordshire council website here;

or the Electoral Commission website here;
https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id/accepted-forms-photo-id
You can also apply for a Voter Card at the Government website here;
https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
You will need to know your National Insurance number and have a passport-style digital photograph of yourself. The other alternative is to apply for a postal vote – but just be aware that this is an either/or option in that if you apply for a postal vote you cannot then vote in person. You can download a postal vote application form from the Government website here;
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-a-postal-vote
The form needs to be printed off, filled in with your basic details and sent to;
Herefordshire Council
Electoral Services Office
Town Hall
St Owen Street

If you have ANY issues then you can contact me personally and we’ll get them resolved for you.

P.S. If your ward is not mentioned and you’re wondering why you will not have a candidate to vote for, it’s simply because no-one has put themselves forward and if you’d like to stand forward yourself, it’s certainly not too late and we would love to have you onboard and support your stand.
